Trade Fairs and Collections
Nicki Marquardt creates two prêt-à-porter collections each year which she presents on important international accessory fairs in spring and autumn, such as the Première Classe Tuileries in Paris and the CPD in Düsseldorf.
Her collections are sold in selected galleries, fashion stores and concept stores worldwide.
Apart from her own prêt-à-porter collections, Nicki Marquardt also designs and manufactures exclusive collections for international fashion companies. The traditional firm Roeckl and the fashion store Loden-Frey count among her customers, for the latter Nicki Marquardt designs once a year an exclusive collection of traditional hats comprising around 60 model hats (all of which are unique creations) and traditional Alice bands.
Haute Couture is the crown of fashion. Craft skills, creativity and serving the customer’s demands combine to a unique model hat which is manufactured only once. Each creation is unique. When trying to determine the shape of a hat, Nicki Marquardt considers it very important that the uniqueness of the hat underlines the wearer’s personality.
Made to Order
The creativity and craft competence of Nicki Marquardt are also in demand beyond the classic fashion scene. Her creations can be seen on international trade fairs and top-flight events as well as in films, commercials and on stage. A showpiece for the trade fair presentation of Osram GmbH, Germany, as well as the designing and manufacture of fashion accessories for the gala event „Cartier, Cartier“, organized by Richemont Northern GmbH, are part of her repertoire.
Milliner Nicki Marquardt is also in demand for realizing and manufacturing hat designs for theatre productions such as the “Passionsspiele” in Oberammergau in the year 2000.
On request, Nicki Marquardt also manufactures and lends couture and model hats for the photo shoots of international fashion magazines.
The artistic work of Nicki Marquardt is driven by an unrestrained exploration of forms and materials which are pushed to their limits, the use of craft skills and the balancing act between craft and art. She has received many awards: in 2003, she received the “Staatspreis” (State Award) of the Bavarian government, in 2007, she received the “Klaus-Oschmann” award and in 2008 the Bavarian “Kunstförderpreis” (Award for the Promotion of Art), to name but a few.
Nicki Marquardt and her hat creations are regularly invited to national and international exhibitions. Most recently, her hats were shown at the „The Art of Contemporary Millinery“ exhibition at the Menier Gallery in London.
