Perhaps you have an invitation to your best friend’s wedding, a gala event or the races at Ascot and are looking for that extravagant finish to your outfit. Or you are planning feverishly for your own wedding and want that exclusive headpiece to complement your romantic look – or a classic top hat to match your morning suit.
A hat made to measure, however, is not just for glamorous, major events. A hat made to your own wishes can also become a signature piece for everyday wear – a hat that reflects your personality and style precisely. And fits perfectly on your head.
And that’s something a bespoke hat can do much better than any standard model. It sits perfectly, regardless of whatever the shape or size of a head.
Perhaps you would simply like to wear a hat as a pleasant and protective head covering for health reasons, too, but want to be fashionable and true to yourself. Or you are looking for a head covering for religious reasons that conceals your hair completely and is pleasant and uncomplicated to wear.

Should I make an appointment for my first visit?
For us, it is very important to be able to provide comprehensive and indivual advice. For this reason we recommend making an appointment in advance by phone or e-mail – especially if you would like Ms. Marquardt to advise you personally or you would like to visit on a Saturday.
But, of course, you are always very welcome to drop in at any time, even without an appointment.

Should I bring my outfit with me for the first appointment?
If you are looking for a matching headpiece for a specific outfit and you already have this in your wardrobe, please bring it with you on your first visit.
We have a spacious changing room for this purpose so that can see the overall look when you try on our hats. In our experience, this is the easiest way to find a matching hat or headpiece to suit your style. But even if you do not already have an outfit, there are several other possibilities that may help: fabric samples, pictures or sketches of your wardrobe are very helpful when creating the appropriate hat for your requirements.
Or else pick out the perfect headpiece first! Then you are completely free to choose a truly unconventional look.
What happens after the first appointment?
Once we have designed your perfect hat, have discussed materials and colours and taken your measurements, production begins. You have the possibility of having a completely new hat made to your requirements or of modifying a model from our collection or a couture hat so that it is exactly what you want.
We will discuss the production process with you and make fitting appointments, as necessary, on your first visit to us.
How long does it take for a hat to be made?
Please plan around 6–12 weeks. Depending on the waiting list, the production time may be shorter or longer. We do, however, offer an express service for very urgently required made-to-measure hats.
What does it cost to have a hat made to measure?
The cost of an individually made item depends on the material chosen, the production techniques required and the time involved. Generally speaking, we can give you an estimate on your first visit. In the case of a model from our collection, made to measure for you, without any further changes, we charge a 10% surcharge for bespoke fitting.
